Our 2015 review… In JULY 2015 our London Walks colleague and friend Graham passed away. London Walks guide Shaughan penned the following…
Ode To Graham
By Shaughan Seymour
It’s seven thirty, and we’re by St Paul’s
As Graham stands by Panyer Alley’s walls
He introduces us to City Ghosts,
And proves himself most genial of hosts
In telling tales of darkness fear and dread
He brings to life the lives of London’s dead.
Would that we could do that for him;
Now he is telling tales to Seraphim.
Dear Graham, you blazed trails for us all;
For forty years you held us all in thrall
And took how many thousands on your tours
The story that was London’s – became yours
Although not born here, Scotland’s son
Became the walking Londoner bar none -
Took you from Soho to the house of Handel
And we all followed – soaking up the Tales
Of Lily Langtry and the Prince of Wales
Of Politicians, Courtesans and Kings
You took the dust of History and gave it wings;
So Graham, we salute you now where ‘ere ye be !
And save a glass of Burgundy for me !
